Aftercare

Aftercare guide

What's normal while you heal and how to protect your results. Erica gives you written aftercare at your appointment. If anything here differs, follow her instructions.

For every treatment

  • Keep the area clean and don't pick, peel or scratch. Flaking is normal and should come off on its own.
  • Use only the aftercare product Erica gives you, exactly as directed.
  • Avoid sun, tanning beds, pools, hot tubs, saunas and heavy sweating until healed (usually about two weeks).
  • No makeup, skincare acids or retinol on the area while it heals.
  • Once healed, use sunscreen on the area to help your color last.
  • Come back for your touch-up about 6–8 weeks later.

Lip blush

  • Normal: swelling for a few hours, color that looks bold at first, dryness and light peeling around days 3–7, and color that looks faded before it returns softer.
  • Keep lips moisturized with the balm provided.
  • For the first few days, drinking through a straw and avoiding very spicy, salty or acidic food helps.
  • If you're prone to cold sores and feel one coming, contact your doctor.

Powder brows

  • Normal: brows look darker and sharper for about a week, light flaking in week two, and patchy or faded color before they settle.
  • Wash your face around the brows, not over them, while they heal.
  • Try to sleep on your back for the first few nights.
  • Skip brow waxing, tinting and threading until healed.

Areola, scar and stretch mark treatments

  • Normal: redness, mild swelling and light scabbing that settle over one to two weeks.
  • Wear loose, soft clothing over the area and keep it clean and dry.
  • For areola work, also follow any guidance from your surgical team.
  • Keep treated areas out of the sun between sessions.
